Free webinar
Thursday 27 July 2023
12.30 - 1.30pm (AEST)

What role do you think government should play in animal welfare policy?
Who should be in charge of making decisions about animals? How should the sentience of animals be factored into decision-making?

The animal welfare policy barometer presents & evaluates the findings of a representative national survey conducted by BehaviourWorks Australia exploring Australian attitudes and beliefs about animal welfare, the way it is governed, and how policy decisions are made.

  • Dr Alexander Saeri will explain how BehaviourWorks conducted the survey and outline the key findings from the research.

  • Dr Jed Goodfellow from the Alliance for Animals will then discuss whether Australia is meeting these important public expectations, and provide solutions for addressing the system’s most significant failures.

The webinar will be chaired by Dr Bidda Jones (Alliance) and is co-hosted by the Australian Alliance for Animals and BehaviourWorks Australia Monash Sustainable Development Institute at Monash University.
